God Can Rescue You

As I was working on a Bible study, I read something the Lord put on my heart to share. In 2 Peter 2:9 it says “The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation.”

If you look at today’s world, there is so much to be tempted with. The awesome cars, big fancy houses, computers, huge big screen TV’s, phone gadgets and all kinds of miscellaneous electronic stuff that man says will make our lives easier, cushier, bigger, better and faster.

We want and desire these things of man. We want and desire the easy, comfortable and fast. And we want it now.

But these things are only temporary. What we, as children of God, really should want and desire are things more permanent – an eternal life of peace with the Lord. We should also desire that all people have that gift of life.

Many choose the easy, comfortable way of life. But the path the Lord has for us is not always an easy one. Some choose not to go down that path because it’s more challenging and not as comfortable.

If you have been given a choice of two roads to follow and you are not sure which path to take, follow your heart. Don’t choose a path just because it’s comfortable or easy, don’t choose a path just because it brings you riches and glory, but choose the one that gives you peace.

Know that whatever path you choose, the Lord is watching over you. He will never leave you or forsake you and He will guide your steps if you ask Him to. Trust in Him, ask Him to take your hand and lead the way.
